Lameque International Baroque Festival

It is with great pleasure that I invite you to the 42nd season of the Lamèque International Baroque Music Festival. We are preparing a large-scale edition that will include seven concerts and events that will bring us back to the source, “Close to our roots”.

The 2017 Festival will make us travel at the beginning the Baroque era with the work of Claudio Monteverdi. In his Vespers to the Blessed Virgin, we witness the birth of an entirely new musical style. This colossal work promises to impress! We will also travel on the seas and other water courses that have inspired many composers and are so important in Acadia. The musicians will make a small incursion on the traditional music side as arrangements for soprano and baroque orchestra of Acadian folk songs will be presented in world premiere.
