Grand Manan Museum: “6th Annual Poetry Night & Book Launch”

Book Launch: Wayne Clifford’s “The Exile’s Papers Part 4: Just Beneath Your Skin, The Dark Begins”
Join us for an evening of poetry readings by a selection of poets, both local and summer resident, and the book launch of Canadian poet Wayne Clifford’s final volume of The Exile’s Papers (Porcupine’s Quill Press, 2016), a collection of more than 600 sonnets written over a 25 year period. Wayne Clifford has written over 12 volumes of poetry and his “Man in a Window” was the first book published by Coach House Press in the 1960s. Wayne will talk about the writing of The Exile’s Papers, and he and others will read selected poems from the final volume of this ground-breaking, experimental collection of sonnets. Many of Wayne’s poetry books will be for sale. If you would like to participate in this evening of readings, please submit your original poem to gmadmin@grandmananmuseum.ca by August 1, 2016.
