Our next One 2 One will give participants all the information you need to successfully fund your artistic proposals. This session is happening before the upcoming artsnb creation grant deadlines.

Bring your questions about grant writing and grant applications to this 20-minute one-on-one consultation with professional grant writer, Kathleen Buckley. Here are some possible topics for your session with Katie:

  • Bring an idea: Bounce ideas with Katie and find grant programs that suit your upcoming project.
  • Bring a draft: If you have a draft grant proposal written already, or an unsuccessful application you’d like feedback on, bring a printed or digital copy to the meeting for Katie to edit.
  • No project in mind? Use this time to chat with Katie about how she approaches grant writing and hear some of her top tips for writing a strong proposal.
  • Haven’t applied for a grant before? Use this time to talk to Katie about how grant programs work!

About the Facilitator

Kathleen (Katie) Buckley is an arts administrator and writer from Saint John, New Brunswick. She recently served as Executive Director of Third Space Gallery and is a founding director of the Atlantic Art at Night Festivals Alliance (AANFA).

Over the last three years, she has provided grant writing support to non-profit organizations and artists of all career levels applying to a variety of public arts funders including Canada Council for the Arts, Heritage Canada, Music-Musique NB, artsnb, Arts Nova Scotia, Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec (CALQ), Sheila Hugh Mackay Foundation, and more.

Kathleen’s writing has also appeared in Visual Arts News, CreatedHere Magazine, and Predella: Journal of Visual Arts. Kathleen is now self-employed as a professional grant writer.

Canada Council Grants: Explore and Create 🗺️

We’re announcing that our next One 2 One session, “Canada Council Grants: Explore and Create,” will be on February 27th, 2023.

There will be a one-hour information session, which doesn’t require pre-registration, followed by One 2 One time slots that can be booked. These sessions are for ArtsLink NB members. If you don’t already have a membership, you can sign up here.

This One 2 One session will have you working with program officers from the Canada Council for the Arts to help demystify the Canada Council granting process and figure out which grants you are eligible to apply for. Sessions will be designed to support research, development, creation, and production of work for artists.

The one-hour information session is open both to participants of the One 2 One sessions and anyone else who is interested.

Social media is an extremely integral part of your art business, but it can be extremely overwhelming. Where should you focus your energy? What’s the difference between Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter? Should you be on Snapchat or TikTok? How do you avoid endless scrolling? Cait Milberry will answer your questions and help you develop a sustainable strategy that works for you.

Cait is a strategic advisor and marketing manager with over a decade of experience working with brands, bands, and various businesses across North America. Her focus is building and implementing sustainable strategies and creating content that backs them up.

Time slots are available for Zoom or in-person meetings (in-person sessions will take place at the ArtsLink NB office at 228 Germain St. in Saint John).
