Arnold LeBlanc Songwriter Award – Amount: $2,000 – Deadline: May 20, 2022. Eligible Music Categories: roots, folk, and country music

The Arnold LeBlanc Songwriter Award seeks to spotlight talented New Brunswick songwriters at all levels in honour of Miramichi-born Arnold LeBlanc. Arnold was gifted with a golden singing voice. As a young child, he sang in the church choir and continued to sing well into his golden years. Arnold could whistle entire songs with perfect pitch and sang every day of his life.

We have confirmed Lennie Gallant, Joel Plaskett, Jenn Grant, Rose Cousins, and Catherine MacLellan for the music jury, and we are excited! The Arnold LeBlanc Songwriter award value has now increased to $2,000!

    Jane LeBlanc Film Post Award – Amount: $1,000 – Deadline: June 1, 2022

    This cash post-production award enables New Brunswick emerging filmmakers to hire resident indie post

    specialists to take their film to completion. Eligible Post Work the cash award can be used for includes:

    •   Sound Design
    •   Music Score
    •   Colour Correction
    •   Dialogue Replacement
    •   Picture Edit

      This cash award can be used to top up other grants/awards the filmmaker has received. It is important to disclose in your submission that you have received funding for your project already. This cash award must hire New Brunswick resident creatives to do the post-work on a project. This cash award can be used to cover your festival submission fees.

  • Jane LeBlanc Acting Support Award – Amount: $700 – Deadline: June 1, 2022


    This Acting Support Award is for any New Brunswick resident actor at any level who needs support moving their education and craft forward. Eligible activities the cash award can be used for:

    •   Mentorships (paying for any costs associated with the mentorship, including a fee for your mentor)
    •   Workshop & Lab Intensives (costs related to the workshop whether in person or online)
    •   Artist-in-Residence (costs related to the residency)
    •   Memberships (costs associated with joining an acting organization)
    •   Educational Material (costs related to the purchase of any educational acting material).

      Jane LeBlanc Music Award  – Amount: $3000 (In-kind Support) – Deadline: June 25, 2022

      The Jane LeBlanc Legacy Fund has created an award for emerging New Brunswick resident singer/songwriters to assist them in the recording and mastering of one of their original songs.If the music jury selects you, you will receive:
      • • Full assistance with recording and mastering (Eastern Hive Studio).
        • 1 to 2 session musicians (we pick), if needed, for the professional studio recording.
        •One-year membership with Music•Musique NB, and the Writers’ Federation of New Brunswick.
        • One-on-one professional development session with Kate Butler of She Said Feck! Records and Colin Fowlie of Colin Fowlie Music.
        • One-on-one consultation with award-winning singer/songwriters Laurie LeBlanc, Rose Cousins, Catherine and Lennie Gallant.
        • One-on-one consultation with artist manager & record label owner Nigel Jenkins.
        • Mentorship with Canada’s Music Incubator (CMI).
        • Complimentary pass to the ECMA’s and potential showcase opportunity.
      • One award will be given out annually through the fund.
