The Saint John Arts Centre (SJAC) is seeking pottery instructors for spring and fall 2024.

SJAC offers introductory and intermediate workshops for children, teens and adults, focused on hand-building and throwing on the wheel.

The introductory workshops are normally held in the evening for 4 consecutive weeks, 2.5 hours per week. More advanced workshops are 6 weeks in duration, 2.5 hours per week. Instructors are responsible for developing the weekly plans, teaching the group, and firing the participant’s pottery. These workshops run on a rotational basis throughout the year from January-June and September-December.

Qualifications: Diploma in Pottery or higher qualification, or comparable experience in the field. Teaching experience is an asset, while ample experience working with clay in a pottery studio is essential.
