Grand Manan Museum: An Historic Overview of “The Exile”

An lecture on the history of the story of The Exile, a Grand Manan ship that made an unexpected voyage in 1846, which resulted in an Irish bride coming to live in Deep Cove. The play, written and directed by former Museum curator/director Anneke Gichuru, will be performed by actors in the community on August 11 at GMCS, 7:00pm. Anneke is going to talk about the project and the history behind the brigantine The Exile, which figures prominently in Grand Manan’s settlement and shipbuilding history.
