North Market Wharf Community Stage Refurbishment

New Brunswick’s Festival Place, Market Square, proudly hosts signature festivals and events free of charge and open to the public. As the venue for over a hundred festivals and events throughout the year, with daily programming throughout the summer season, this outdoor, waterfront stage is the heart of the community.

We are in need of a new stage for this space, as the current infrastructure is far past its usability. We have also outgrown the scale and proportion of the stage, which hampers our ability to continue to develop world-class caliber of arts and culture programming that we have matured to be able to deliver as we enter our fifteenth season.

The funds will allow for us to welcome Aviva as part of a milestone of our 2017 celebrations, and as a contributor to the first phase of a major redevelopment of the area surrounding the stage. This project will act as a major catalyst for us to maintain momentum, and to continue to strive for excellence in our programming goals.

This opportunity will provide for us to have our region become a viable stop on routing concert tours, and open us acts that our current infrastructure and budget does not permit. Most importantly, we can do so without needing to monetize to the consumer, allowing us to maintain the inclusivity model (free of charge, open to the public) that is a foundation of our mandate as an organization, and as a community.
