Weave your own Wall Hanging

Difficulty Level: Beginner
Dates: March 7, 2020, 9am – 5pm
Class size: 7 (minimum of 5 students required for the class to run – if less than 5 register, the class will be cancelled and you will be refunded)
Course fee: $155 (this includes the purchase of a handmade frame loom that you get to keep at the end of the class as well as materials used during the class)
Course Description:
In this one day class, you will learn the basics of tapestry weaving and should walk away with a finished wall hanging and a frame loom (offering the ability to make more after the class).
What to bring:
Fork, scissors, fine tip permenant marker, lunch
About the Instructor:
Andrea graduated from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design, with a major in textiles. She was awarded the Reginald D. Evans Fund, Centennial Scholarship for high standing in academics and studio practice. Since graduating, Butler has held solo shows and been part of several group shows. Andrea has received two Emerging Artist grants from artsnb, as well as, a Saint John Regional Grant to create three large-scale tapestries that hung on the exterior east wall of Imperial Theatre. She was one of four Canadians chosen as part of the American Tapestry Alliance Biennial 6, an international tapestry exhibition that traveled the USA. Most recently three of her tapestries were included in From Lausanne to Beijing 8th International Fiber Art Biennale in Beijing, China.
