Sally Wright, principal flute with Symphony New Brunswick, and Fredericton, NB guitarist and recording artist Steven Peacock present impressive and exciting music for flute and classical guitar across a wide expressive and technical range. Theirs is an especially judicious and happy instrumental pairing which a wide spectrum of composers have been unable to resist. Concert programs emphasize 20th and 21st-century compositions, often featuring music with strong dance elements and innovative arrangements of folk melodies in a number of traditions. Duo Cantilena’s ECMA-nominated 2010 CD release, The Green Bushes: Dances, Airs & Lullabies, features original arrangements of folk-based music in a variety of Atlantic Canadian and Spanish traditions.
