Wet Felted Geode Workshop, Oromocto, NB

You are invited to come play with wool and make these beautiful felted wool geodes.

Geodes: a rock containing a cavity lined with crystals or other minerals.

In this workshop you will be learning how to wrap layers of wool, then wet felt by hand, to create a hollow sphere that is colourful when cut. You can use this technique to make other things, like small bowls, tree ornaments, etc…

We will then be decorating the inside with crystals, beads and sequins to give the geode effect. These decorative “rocks”, make great tree ornaments, shelf decorations or essential oil diffusers.

CLASS DESCRIPTION:

Come learn the wonderful art of wet felting and create your own beautiful felted wool “geodes”. This workshop is suitable for beginners or those with some experience.

Participants will receive a felting needle and enough dyed and natural wool and to make four felted geodes that you can decorate at home once dry. You will also receive two already made felted geode that you will learn to decorate in class. An assortment of beads, crystals, sequins, and stones will be available to use.
