UNB’s Andrews Initiative Presents: “Changing My Mind” – Margaret Trudeau speaks at UNB

To cap off UNB’s Andrews Initiative Year of Creativity & Inspiration, we are thrilled to bring the former First Lady of Canada, Margaret Trudeau to UNB. Ms. Trudeau will speak about her turbulent life as wife of former Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau, her struggles with bi-polar disorder, and her role in the public eye as a respected mental-health issues advocate. Ms. Trudeau will bring her formidable life story to the audience, a story of resilience and inspiration. The lecture will be held on Wednesday, November 23 at 7:30PM in the Wu Conference Centre on UNB Fredericton campus.
Margaret Trudeau is a Canadian icon, celebrated both for her role in the public eye and as a respected mental-health issues advocate. Margaret is the author of four books, including her bestselling title, Changing My Mind, which charts her life’s ups and downs, and her latest title, The Time of Your Life, which offers women an inspirational and practical approach to creating a healthy, happy, secure and satisfying future. A book signing and reception will follow her talk.
Due to limited space in the J. Harper Kent auditorium at the Wu Conference Centre, attendees will be seated on a first-come, first-served basis. Because of the level of interest expressed in this talk, the Chancellor’s Room has been booked to accommodate extra guests. Ms. Trudeau’s talk will be live-streamed to the overflow room.
As part of the UNB-wide “Year of Creativity” activities, the Andrews Initiative theme for 2016 is “Creativity & Inspiration”. The Andrews Initiative was created by UNB president emeritus John McLaughlin, and launched in 2011. The Andrews Initiative offers quality learning opportunities in contemporary topics for the 21st century.
