The phenomenon of the power of live performance existed before Shakespeare and continues to this day, regardless of his involvement. Shakespeare created his plays in order that they be ignited by the power of live performance. This will be the foundation of the ‘Playing Shakespeare’ workshop.

The workshop will be lead by Ben Stone, co-founder of Halifax based Zuppa Theatre. Ben is a performer, teacher, director and writer whose work has taken him across the globe.

‘Playing Shakespeare’ will uncover the individual spark that each actor brings to the stage, that current that pulses between actor and audience, and will expand that current to run between scene partners and to the audience.
