20 January Saturday 1pm-4pm: Join artist and art educator Michael McEwing at the NBM for insights about his exhibition, Conservation on Canvas. Free admission. Learn how the project began nearly four years ago when he approached the Nature Trust of New Brunswick with an idea: interpreting the beauty of the Nature Trust’s preserves on canvas.
Hear from Dr. Donald McAlpine, Head and Research Curator of Zoology, NBM Department of Natural Science, as he talks about the New Brunswick Museum (NBM) BiotaNB programme, going into its 10th of a 20 year program. Also, the Nature Trust of New Brunswick will talk about the picture of land conservation in the province, and volunteer opportunities for stewardship.
From 2pm-4pm: The Artist and Art Educator’s Perspective. In this presentation, Michael McEwing will inspire you with details about his paintings that record unique ecosystems and intriguing landscapes from around the province. Take the opportunity to see these landscapes through the eyes of a painter. (In English)
