While the Director is the headliner who runs the show, the Director of Photography (DoP) is the second most important person on any film. The DoP is the artist who creates the images that the director needs to tell the story. Everything the DoP does is in service to the story and the director’s vision. The DoP also runs the shooting crew of camera dept, electrics, and grips. This session will cover the role of the cinematographer, the various duties and equipment used and the relationship with the Art Director and Director on set
