Logo Contact East Artist Submissions Now Open

Contact East is the Atlantic Presenters Association’s (APA’s) hallmark showcase summit and Atlantic Canada’s premiere performing arts booking conference. The event brings together performing arts presenters, managers, and agents to see top-quality performances from a diverse range of artistic genres, including but not limited to: music, cabaret, dance, Deaf, Disability and Mad arts, circus arts, theatre, comedy, youth-oriented programming, and cultural performances.

APA acknowledges that past selection processes were not fair or equitable to all and acknowledges the value that lived- and community-based experiences and practices have in creating fair artist selection processes. APA is committed to implementing and upholding equitable practices in choosing artists to perform at Contact East 2022 and beyond. We will provide any needed support to ensure fair, adequate, and accessible representation. We will be selecting artists that represent the wide diversity of artists that we are committed to bringing to Contact East. The artists chosen by the selection committee shall have equitable representation across communities, including Indigenous, Black, racialized, 2SLGBTQIA+, disability, and MAD arts communities.

Contact East 2022 will take place in Kjipuktuk/Halifax, Nova Scotia from Thursday, September 22 to Sunday, September 25.

The application deadline is Thursday, May 12, 11:59pm Atlantic Time.
