Lunar Codex Indigenous Mission Collection: Open Call 🌖

The Lunar Codex, a special project founded by Dr. Samuel Peralta, Canadian physicist and author through Incandence Corp., is an archive of cultural works from across the globe, launched via NASA Artemis / Commercial Lunar Payload Service (CLPS) program partners, from Earth to space, the Moon, and beyond.

Covering seven missions – the Lunar Codex represents creative artists from 185 countries and territories, and 69 Indigenous nations, predominantly in visual art, but also in writing, music, and film.

Sheila Hugh Mackay International Creative Residency 🌍

The $10,000 Sheila Hugh Mackay International Creative Residency is an initiative aimed at the advancement of the careers of professional New Brunswick visual artists.

 

 

Professional New Brunswick visual artists are eligible for the SHMF International Creative Residency funding once in a lifetime.

SHMF funds one residency per year based on the recommendation of an independent jury of art professionals. Completed submissions for 2025 International Creative Residency (including all supporting material) must be postmarked on or before the deadline of January 15. 2025. Late or incomplete applications or nominations will not be accepted. SHMF can not accept applications by fax or email.

The Sheilas 2025 ✍️

Since 2012, the Sheila Hugh Mackay Foundation has contributed 500,000 in annual facilitation grants to arts organizations and collectives serving the New Brunswick visual arts community.

 

 

These grants, affectionately known as “the Sheilas” build on Sheila Mackay’s early program of small seed grants to emerging artists.

Are you an early career artist looking for mentorship and the chance to develop your artwork at the Art Gallery of Ontario? The 2025 AGO x RBC Artist-in-Residence Program will support three artist projects, each to be developed over a three-month residency and shared with AGO visitors.

Carte Blanche Acadie: Call for Submissions 💃

The 6th edition of Carte Blanche Acadie will take place on February 22nd, 2025, at the Bernard-LeBlanc Hall at the Aberdeen Cultural Centre in Moncton, NB, at 8PM.

The event will be followed the next day by a business meeting to discuss the development of the dance scene. This meeting will be conducted in both official languages, English and French, at the Aberdeen Cultural Centre. Art for Social Change

The Public Art Committee and the Regional Advisory Committee on Inclusion, Diversity & Equity are collaborating on projects that address the needs of the community in a pilot program called Art for Social Change.

Public Art Wood Buffalo is seeking artists living within Canada to submit proposals for sitespecific public art installations that creatively explore and interpret the theme of “Accessibility.”

Emerging Digital Artists Award

The Emerging Digital Artists Award (EDAA) is Canada’s first digital art award designed to foster experimentation in the work of emerging artists and create opportunities for those working in digital media. Resisting the notion that screen time lacks space for critical engagement, the EDAA champions a new generation of digital creators who challenge us to see the world through a different screen.

Plein Air Festival: Call for Artists

The Miramichi Art Core and Bathurst Art Society are sponsoring the annual Plein Air event, which rotates between the two cities. The 2024 Plein Air Festival will be held in Miramichi on July 13 and 14.

Two participating artists will win the People’s Choice awards of $200 and $100, awarded to the two most popular pieces chosen by the public.

Early registration fee of $35 before June 30. Late registration is after June 30th.
