The ECMA, Music/Musique NB, MusicNL, Music NS, and Music PEI are pleased to be presenting the “Canadian Music. East Coast Style.” virtual showcase spotlight at the 2021 edition of Folk Alliance International (Feb 22 – 25). The showcase will feature eight export-ready artists from Atlantic Canada with two acts from each province. Deadline for submissions: Monday, November 23rd, 5 PM AST/ 5:30 PM NDT

East Track Mind wants you to #listenlocal
Businesses in Moncton are switching to local music with the help of new company East Track Mind. Spotify playlists were curated and organized by province and genre making it easy to participate. The initiative includes a #listenlocal challenge asking the public to listen exclusively to East Coast Music for 3 weeks beginning November 16. The program will expand to include Atlantic Canada after the initial campaign. The goal is to create momentum for East Coast Music, a neglected branch of the “support local” movement.+++ info >

Sound Drown’s first full length release
Sound Drown is a pop-punk band proudly hailing from Saint John, New Brunswick. With the release of their EP, “Dino Droppings”, in 2017, Sound Drown have continued to hone their craft and have focused on writing and recording their new full-length record ‘Selfish Reasons’. Over the course of 2018-2020 they took some time off from playing live to focus on their families and continue writing and collaborating together. +++ info >

FMZ 2020 HOLIDAY DRUMMER RAFFLE
The FMZ 2020 Holiday Drummer Raffle was created in response to the Covid-19 pandemic. Many Canadian drummers have lost work through cancelled tours, gigs, clinics, sessions and many other ways they earn their living. Cedric Vieno revient en force avec «Laisse Tomber», le premier extrait de son quatrième album intitulé Maltempête. Ce dernier prend racine dans un village mi-fictif mi-réel où évolue des personnages un brin surréalistes. On y retrouve notamment le bûcheron qui travaille à la lampe frontale lors de ses nuits d’insomnie, rêvant de tuer la mort, la robuste drag queen du village qui travaille à l’usine de poisson ou encore Fifille, une dominatrice au volant d’une fusée-bécane qui enferme ses amants dans sa cave. +++ info >
