SOCIAL MEDIA MARKETING: ESSENTIAL SKILLS FOR ARTISTS

Handout from our no-nonsense, half-day session for artists who want to use social media to reach a larger audience and deepen their client bases. Designed for artists who are ready to start using social media but aren’t sure where to begin, and for those who have established a social media presence but aren’t sure how to most effectively market their work. The session included an overview of the most powerful and popular social media tools for artists, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Pinterest. Participants learned how to promote your work on more than one platform quickly and efficiently while maintaining your own personality and artistic style and without sacrificing valuable studio time.

TIMETABLE

Here is a good place to start with your social media schedule. It is important to take note of what times work best for your networks as your grow your social media presence.

SCHEDULING AND TIME MANAGEMENT

Time Management can be the trickiest part of Marketing on Social Media. Using a program like the Canadian Based Hootsuite, allows you to see all of  our streams or timelines and schedule share and interact with posts on one page or dashboard.

These programs also have extensions for your browser to make sharing content of different website convenient.

There are many other online tools similar to Hootsuite, you can read about here.
