Tay Creek Folk Festival
July 28, 2017 @ 8:00 pm - July 30, 2017 @ 11:00 pm
$25 – $50This year marks the 10th anniversary of the Tay Creek Folk Festival! Since its inception, the annual festival has been attracting musicians and audiences from across New Brunswick and beyond, helping to build bonds between musicians and bring outside talent to our area.
As usual the festival shall be featuring a wide range of music and spotlighting a great line-up of New Brunswick artists—not forgetting that again this year it will host performers from right across Canada: Outside I’m a Giant from Quebec and Lindsay Foote from Toronto will join New Brunswick’s own Aydn Townes and Kathleen Gorey McSorley. The festival will also welcome The Montgomery Street Band, Big Monday Blues, Men From Earth and the Brent Mason Band.
Aside from events on the main stage will be an acoustic tent where everyone is welcome to make their own music and join in singing the blues and traditional songs on guitar, banjo, mandolin, autoharp or fiddle. Music and educational workshops and activities will be held through the week after the festival. Please see the festival’s official Website or call 367-3133 for workshop details.
In the years since it began as a one-day grassroots event, the festival has grown to attract a wider audience. However, it has not abandoned its original aim of offering a stage to members of the local musical community, especially its next generation of budding talent.
The TCFF is set in idyllic surroundings with parking facilities, free camping for tents and RVs, Puddleducks Café, BBQ, fun for children (including face-painting and a magic forest), all making for a fun weekend for families and music lovers of all ages. Come and hike the trails and swim in the River Tay; you are guaranteed to have a blast!
If you would like to volunteer by donating your time and/or skills in the run-up to or during the festival, no matter what—or how little or much—please contact the Tay Creek Folk Festival via phone, Facebook or via its Website. All volunteers are given a festival pass and refreshments during their shifts.
