Space, Place, Home

The Galerie d’art Louise-et-Reuben-Cohen will open on August 15 with a new exhibition titled Space, Place, Home, a project organized by 3E Collective. The exhibition presents the work of nine artists who have a connection to the Atlantic region and whose research address the fluid ideas of space and of place. The participating artists are rudi aker, Léopold L. Foulem, Séamus Gallagher, Hailey Guzik, Denis Lanteigne, Meagan Musseau, Reiko Pleau, Serge V. Richard, and Lisa Theriault.
3E Collective are Emma Hassencahl-Perley, Emilie Grace Lavoie and Erin Goodine, three emerging curators from Indigenous, Francophone, and Anglophone communities, respectively. The collective was formed in 2018 while working together at the Beaverbrook Art Gallery on the 50th anniversary exhibition of collectionArtNB. The three curators discovered that they worked well collaboratively, sharing knowledge and experience from their different educational and cultural backgrounds. Space, Place, Home emerged from conversations between members of the 3E Collective, while discussing the meaning and variations of place and home as three artists and curators from New Brunswick.
Space, Place, Home will be presented from August 15 to October 18, 2020. Summer hours (to September 30) are 9 – 4, Wednesday to Friday, and 1 – 4, Saturday and Sunday. As of October 1, visiting hours will be 1 – 4, Tuesday to Sunday. Admission is free and all are welcome.
