odd sundays

October 30, 2016 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

The new season of odd sundays is off to a great start. Our first session was a wonderful time, seeing old friends and making new ones. Now it’s onward and upward. Please come back together on Sunday, October 30, at Corked Wine Bar, 83 Regent St. Say hello to our charming host, Charlotte, get yourself a drink and have a seat. Be sure to get a ticket for the book draw and consider adding your name to the open mic session.
The door will be open around 1:30 and we will begin the festivities at 2. Featured readers for this Sunday will be Rabindranath (Robin) Maharaj and Ian LeTourneau.
Robin Maharaj is the author of five novels and three short story collections. His last novel, The Amazing Absorbing Boy, won both the Toronto Book Award and the Trillium Fiction Prize. Previous books were nominated for various awards, including the Commonwealth Writers’ Prize, The Chapters First Novel Award, and The Rogers Fiction Award.  In January 2013, he was awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal. Maharaj is currently the Writer in Residence at the University of New Brunswick.
Ian LeTourneau will not be a stranger to most of you. Ian is the author of Defining Range (Gaspereau, 2006) and Terminal Moraine (Thistledown, 2008). He is the poetry editor of UNB’s literary magazine, The Fiddlehead, and is currently serving a two year term as Fredericton’s Cultural Laureate.
