LIVE BAIT CHRISTMAS DINNER THEATRE RETURNS!
December 13, 2017 @ 7:00 pm - December 16, 2017 @ 9:00 pm
Live Bait Theatre presented its first Christmas dinner theatre, The Krazy Family Christmas Reunion, by Charlie Rhindress and Karen Valanne, in 1994. This type of wacky, musical dinner theatre became an annual tradition for close to twenty years, but the company has not produced an interactive holiday show for the past couple of years.
Now Live Bait is bringing back the tradition, partnering with Charlie Rhindress to present a Christmas dinner theatre. Rhindress is directing a new production of âA Rockinâ Little Christmasâ, which he co-wrote with Valanne and premiered at the company in 1996. The show, which will be updated for this new production, features classic rock ânâ roll from the 1950âs and 60âs and will run at the Sackville Legion, Dec. 6th to 9th  and 13th to 16th. The Anne Murray Centre will also present the show for two nights, November 29 and 30, at the Dr. Carson and Marion Murray Centre in Springhill, NS.
âKaren and I wrote about thirty dinner theatres for Live Bait over a twenty year period,â Rhindress said. âThis was one of our earliest so itâs nice to have a chance to go back and rewrite this early script, incorporating a lot of what we learned over the years.â
In the show, everyone in town has gathered at the River Road High cafeteria on Christmas Eve because there have been a number of UFO sightings over the past few days. People are scared the town is going to be attacked so they gather at the school, which has a bomb shelter. In typical dinner theatre style the show features wild characters, big plot twists and lots of laughs.
