Call for Proposals

The Andrew & Laura McCain Art Gallery invites professional artists and artist teams to submit their qualifications for consideration for an exhibition during the 2019 and 2020 exhibition season.

The Andrew & Laura McCain Art Gallery in Western New Brunswick is a non-profit art gallery located in Florenceville-Bristol. The gallery provides a professional venue for artists to exhibit their art and aims to cultivate a broader appreciation and knowledge of the Arts in New Brunswick.

The Andrew & Laura McCain Art Gallery hosts 8 art exhibits a year featuring artists from around the province and beyond. Whenever possible, the Gallery pays CARFAC fees to exhibiting artists in solo or small group shows.

Deadline:     Midnight Sunday 10 September 2018

Proposals may be sent by email or by mail and must be post-dated no later than Midnight September 10, 2018

Guidelines for artists wishing to submit a proposal for an exhibition

The Andrew & Laura McCain Art Gallery

• accepts artists whose practice demonstrates originality, quality, integrity and creativity.

• requires original works both in creation/design and materials – no reproductions or plagiarism.

• A studio visit may be a condition of acceptance.

• If the works for the proposed exhibition have not yet been completed, then images of the artist’s most current works should be submitted.

• Please indicate in your cover letter if you would or would not be interested in being included in a group exhibition if your proposal is not selected for a solo show. 

• The Selection Committee will base its decision on the submitted artist’s statement and images.

• Only submissions received by Midnight August 12, 2018 will be considered in this selection process.

Required Information

1. Exhibition information:

Please provide an artist’s statement with a description of the proposed exhibition or body of work, the theme and objectives for the exhibition.

2. Artist CV

3. Images:

Maximum 15 Digital images sent via email, Drop Box, We transfer or USB drive

JPG format, maximum of 1240 pixels (along the longest side)

4. Cover Sheet with the following information:

      Individual Artist: name and contact information including email, phone number, complete  mailing address and website

     OR

      Artist Group Name.

     Lead contact for the group including contact information including email, phone number, mailing address and website.

A studio visit may be a condition of acceptance.
