Sweltering Songs ☀️

July 15, 2022 @ 6:00 pm July 17, 2022 @ 11:00 pm

To ensure that we are able to host a weekend-long festival as originally planned for 2022, we are ecstatic to announce that we will hold our second annual installment of Sweltering Songs this July 15-17 on Carleton Street in Fredericton. Sweltering Songs will offer a chance to see amazing artists in an open-air venue, during warmer weather. July artist announcements will follow across the next month.

“We’re really excited to return after what felt like such a long wait,” said Festival co-organizer, Zach Atkinson. “This announcement celebrates so many local and regional artists, and we’re so grateful to bring this incredible array of talent to Fredericton. Our community has been a great source of support during this time, so we strive to highlight local artists and small businesses downtown, as a way to say thanks after the difficult winter hiatus.”

Organizers are working with both existing venues and new spaces, to create a concert experience that ensures a safe, comfortable environment for all artists, patrons, volunteers, and support staff. Venue-specific COVID-19 safety protocols will be detailed at the point of purchase, as well as at www.shiveringsongs.com

A midwinter celebration of songwriting and storytelling, and flagship partner of Fredericton FROSTival, Shivering Songs hosts internationally renowned artists in historic and intimate spaces throughout Downtown Fredericton, on the unceded territory of the Wolastoqiyik people.

RE: FLUX explores new frontiers in sound through experimentation and invites spectators to explore the space between musical conventions in order to find new sensorial possibilities. The festival offers an experience that transcends all expectations by reinventing music as we’ve come to know it, seeking its purpose without ever finding it. RE:FLUX is run by the Galerie Sans Nom artist-run centre.
