September 3, 2022 @ 7:00 pm 9:00 pm

Join us at The Tipsy Muse Cafe 7-9pm, Saturday, September 3rd for a fun-filled evening of hilarity and laughter with an amazing lineup of comics that promise to pair well with your refreshing beverage (spit takes aren’t the responsibility of the joke makers)! You’ll be giggling and chortling and cackling all night long.

The Live Laugh Long Weekend Show Stand-up Comedy Night

Hosted by local favourite, Gill Salmon! Featuring: Anthony Bryan, Brad Rice, and Line Woods.Wanna know more about the comics?

GILL SALMON (she/her)
Gillian is a New Brunswick stand up comedian, improviser and writer. Currently in Second City’s Conservatory Program, she has embraced the power of technology to make people laugh all over the world. She likes to travel when she can and read when she can’t.

ANTHONY BRYAN (he/him)
Louis Anthony Bryan is a Fredericton-based theatre artist, stand-up comedian, performer, and educator from Trinidad and Tobago. An active and contributing member in the arts, Anthony has been involved with many local theatre and film companies. He hosts stand-up comedy at open mics throughout New Brunswick and local arts events: including Flourish and Shivering Songs.

BRAD RICE (he/him)
Fresh off the release of a Just For Laughs compilation album Brad will keep the comedy momentum rolling through Fredericton. Comedy momentum is Brad’s favorite type of momentum because all other types seem to lead to injury.

LINE WOODS (she/her)
Line Woods is a screenwriter, filmmaker and hilarious storyteller. She performs all over the maritimes in both official languages and proves that big laughs come in small packages. You may have seen her at the Hubcap Comedy Festival. Or maybe you’ve heard her jokes on SiriusXM (or streaming services) on a Just For Laughs Originals compilation album (yes, with Brad). Oh. And Line is also a shamelessly huge fan of fried chicken.

Phantom of the Opera: Atlantic Ballet 🩰

November 24, 2022 @ 7:00 pm 9:00 pm

Inspired by Gaston Leroux’s 1910 novel of the same name, Atlantic Ballet Atlantique Canada’s PHANTOM OF THE OPERA is a captivating story which evokes timeless themes and images of outcasts, love, and the power of obsession.

Two dancers onstage in a scene from the Phantom of the Opera.

The story has continued to excite the imaginations of readers. reaching across different cultures and eras. An exile, rejected by the only world he knows, Erik, the Phantom, hides a romantic heart and a sensitive soul. Connie Wheaton: FAA Artist in Residence

August 20, 2022 @ 12:00 pm 2:00 pm

Connie Wheaton wants to celebrate the city of Fredericton and its true inner beauty through her
abstract realism art.

Artist Connie Wheaton.

In her first residency for the Fredericton Arts Alliance, Aug. 15–21, Wheaton proposes to sketch and
paint the city’s historic and modern buildings, as well as its lifestyle, in watercolour and acrylic. She
plans to travel around the city during the week, taking photos to paint later.

“I am inspired by everything around me. I am extremely versatile and paint anything from pets,
florals, to large abstract pieces,” she said. “I love painting the city of Fredericton.”

This series of Fredericton paintings will feature not only the iconic buildings of the city, but also
lesser-known locales and streets: alleys, building sides, houses, and other undiscovered Fredericton
treasures that can bring joy to many people.

Wheaton is a fan of and connected to Fredericton’s heritage despite being from Shelbourne,
Ontario. She likes how everything is intertwined and how everyone is familiar with one another.
During her week-long residency, Wheaton will do live sketching and painting. She will be posting her
travels around the city on her social media, Facebook and Instagram. Her pop-up event will take
place the weekend of Aug. 20–21 at noon at Picaroons Round house, in which her artworks will be
available for viewing, queries, and perhaps even purchases.

The Fredericton Arts Alliance is grateful for the support of the City of Fredericton and Downtown Fredericton in making these residencies possible.
