Young King Henry, having cast off his youthful indiscretions, and spurred both by his advisors and an insult from the French prince, decides to press his claim to the throne of France by mounting an invasion. Although hopelessly outnumbered by the French, he rallies his troops to a stunning victory, uniting the thrones of England and France.
Shakespeare’s history play depicting the events of 1415-20 remains remarkably relevant to our present day, and contains some of his most stirring speeches, epic battle scenes, and remarkable characters, while Theatre UNB’s production will offer more than a few surprises.
Directed by Len Falkenstein and produced and performed by the students of Drama 2175/3175 with technical assistance from Drama 2174.

The UNB Art Centre celebrates its 12th annual World Water Day exhibit with REFLECTIONS, an exhibit of work from 28 artists in the community, opening on March 24 at 5:00 pm. Since 2011, the UNB Art Centre has recognized World Water Day with a special exhibit or event that highlights the challenges that face society and the environment.
World Water Day is an initiative of the United Nations to bring awareness to the importance of water resources and their sustainable management. Since its inception in 1993, the project has gathered momentum and participants from all over the world, each inspired to educate and activate their communities through a variety of projects.
While only 28 artists were selected to showcase their work in REFLECTIONS, 78 artists answered the call for submissions, responding to the theme by reflecting on their own relationship with water and the waterways of New Brunswick. For some, the artwork was based on an intimate relationship with a particular pond or stream, others took a more global perspective and looked at how water is used, still others examined the various states of water and its potential. This exhibit features sculpture, video, installation, photography, and painting.
REFLECTIONS will be on view from March 24 through April 28, 2023, in the East and West Galleries of the UNB Art Centre. It can also be viewed online.
The UNB Art Centre is located at Memorial Hall, 9 Bailey Drive, University of New Brunswick, Fredericton. The galleries are open 9 am – 4 pm on weekdays and during special events. Admission is free to members of the public.

The NotaBle Acts Theatre Company (NB Acts) was founded in the fall of 2001 and incorporated in July of 2002. The company’s mandate and artistic mission statement is as follows:
To enhance the theatrical calendar in the City of Fredericton, and beyond;
To mentor, develop, and produce the work of New Brunswick playwrights;
To develop, mentor and diversify the community of theatre practitioners who choose to call the Province of New Brunswick home.
NotaBle Acts is unique in the province as the only English-language theatre company whose mandate is devoted exclusively to developing and producing new plays by writers from the province. The festival is also a home for new and alternative drama in a city that has traditionally had few non-mainstream offerings. We are proud to mentor emerging actors, directors, designers, and technicians, and to take some steps towards addressing the longstanding problem of the lack of opportunities for New Brunswick theatre professionals to work in their home province.
The 2023 Songwriter’s Intensive is a professional development opportunity for emerging and intermediate level songwriters in New Brunswick and is made possible by the generous support of the City of Fredericton.
With the pending release of his latest album Adrift, we are thrilled to have Andrew Sisk back this year as our lead songwriter. Andrew uses songwriting whenever he can: to shake off the darkness of winter, or mend a broken heart, to capture a beautiful moment, or to teach children. Songs have always been his work. Through the act of creating music, Sisk has built a life filled with lovely talented friends and collaborators while making joyful memories of recording music. His surreptitious career spanning 20+ years has lead to his songs appearing in Radio, Television, and film, as well as, having songs covered by other artists like songstress Christina Martin with Blue Rodeo’s Greg Keelor. Perhaps most notably his songs were recorded with the release of a tribute album, “We Have the Same Lights Overhead“(2013), by the Acadian Embassy label which featured many of his celebrated peers recording versions of his songs.
Most recently, Sisk composed the film score for the NFB Documentary short “Paula“. He was commissioned to perform a musical tribute to Canadian Poet Alden Nowlan for the 2020 Shivering Songs Music Festival as a multidisciplinary performance piece.
What to expect…
We will be hosting a one day workshop for emerging songwriters and another for intermediate level songwriters.
