Dance Fredericton Celebrates 30 Years Quest for the Sun & Special Guests Saturday, June 3 | 1:30 pm
“Quest for the Sun” is a remake of a full length story ballet that includes all of the Dance Fredericton dancers. Our “Special Guests” Act 2 is highlighted by original choreography by both teachers and students. Our Special Guests are Liam Caines and Yayoi Ban from The Royal Winnipeg Ballet performing an original contemporary piece.
RUBBERBAND dance company expertly blends urban and contemporary dance, while including theatricality and highly athletic segments. Vic’s Mix is a highlight reel of artistic director/choreographer Victor Quijada’s repertoire. In this remix of his own work, Quijada goes further in his experiments defying notions of theatricality and audience expectations, orchestrating the clash between urban pop and classical composition. These dancers are sure to astound in this creative and athletic dance collection.
Vic’s Mix is a RUBBERBAND production supported by Festival international DansEncore, the Canada Council for the Arts, the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec, the Conseil des arts de Montréal, and the Ontario Arts Council.

The objective of “Pay What You Will” is to increase access to our programs, and to encourage our patrons to take a chance on new and exciting performances.
Join CSAC for an evening of silent disco! We’ll provide each concert go-er with a pair of high quality wireless headphones and send them out to the dance floor.
There will be four DJ’s playing live sets throughout the night, it’ll be up to each audience member to decide who they want their headphones to tune into. The bar will be up and running! Grab all your friends and come (silently) dance the night away. The DJ announcements are forthcoming, so stay tuned to CSAC social media for updates regarding Silence of the Jams.

Presented by Dance Fredericton Danse and featuring guest artists Alanna McAdie and Peter Lancksweerdt, soloists with Canada’s Royal Winnipeg Ballet, The Nutcracker is a full-length ballet which showcases original choreography created for Dance Fredericton Danse, elaborate costuming and sets, and the classical score by Pyotr Tchaikovsky.
This fairy tale ballet opens with the festive Victorian party scene on Christmas Eve in the Stahlbaum home and later follows Clara and the Nutcracker Prince on their journey to the Land of the Sweets. In the Magical Kingdom they are feted with delightful dances from around the world, including the stunningly beautiful pas de deux of the Sugar Plum Fairy and her Cavalier. This timeless classic will delight audiences of all ages.
At the Fredericton Playhouse, Friday, December 2nd at 7:30 pm and Saturday, December 3rd at 2pm.
Through this event, we hope to create strategies and develop the dance community together, since dance is an art form free of language barriers.

This is a wonderful opportunity to come to Moncton for a weekend dedicated to the Art of Dance! Carte Blanche Acadie (November 26th, 8 PM-10 PM) The aim of Carte Blanche Acadie is to offer a platform adapted to the needs of dance artists during which they can present work. The maximum length of each presentation will be 10 minutes. Whether the project is in the research stage, in development or about to be completed, the only criteria to participate is to have something to share. Even improvisation is more than welcome.
You would only have to specify what you would like to show in the application form. The presence of peers and an informed audience will allow you to have feedback on your work whether it is vocal or sensory.
Presenting, sharing and discussing in an inclusive environment are the objectives of Carte Blanche. In addition to providing a platform to perform, we will be providing a video of your performance as well as photographs that you can use for grants and future applications. Each act will receive an honorarium. The money accumulated at the door (in the form of a voluntary contribution) will also be divided equally between the acts and given to the person/company who submitted the project.
As for the selection process, we would like to accept as many projects as possible, but if we do not have enough time, as we will only have 2 hours for the event, we will draw candidates by lottery. Preference will be given for artists from the Atlantic provinces.
The chosen artists will be responsible for covering their own travel and accommodation expenses. Nevertheless, we can supply a letter of invitation to those who wish to submit a travel grant application. It may also be possible to find housing among local artists.
Please fill out the attached application form here.
The deadline for submissions is Friday, September 9th, 2022.
We will let you know by the end of September if your application was successful. For any questions, please write to: carteblanche.acadie@gmail.com
