New exhibitions at Gallery 78 August 8 – September 2, 2018
August 8, 2018 @ 8:00 am - September 2, 2018 @ 5:00 pm
Printmaking – a labour of love for artists who choose to create images using the many possible techniques including: etching, serigraphy (also known as silkscreen printing), lithography, linocut, drypoint etching, and mezzotint. Each requires planning, technical skill, and patience – as well as an artistic vision. Known as “Original Multiples”, images created using printmaking techniques are original works of art made by printing an impression created on another surface such as a plate of metal, stone, block, plexiglass, or a screen. The imagery comes alive through layering. In the exhibition, The Art of Printmaking you will find works by: Alan Grabelsky, Francis Wishart, Lori Doody, Melissa Kennedy, Susan Paterson, Kath Kornelsen Rutherford and others.
At the same time, the ethereal beauty of this season including delicate and fleeting blossoms has been captured in the exhibition Summer Blooms. Enjoy the tranquil, fragrant beauty with work by Joanne Hunt, David McKay, Amber Leger, Colin Hugh Smith and others.
These exhibitions continue until September 2, 2018
We look forward to your visit.
