Organization Description
The Artist-Run Centres and Collectives Conference/La Conférence des collectifs et des Centres d’artistes autogérés (ARCA) currently represents over 180+ artist-run centres (ARC) across Canada. This includes but is not limited to groups and collectives working in visual and media arts, performance art, publishing, contemporary craft and architecture. ARCs are defined through their community and actions and have been built over multiple generations of arts advocacy since the 1960s. ARCs are key arts and culture providers, each providing unique and significant artistic benefits to their communities. Each ARC has its own mandate and cultural identity, responding to their community’s needs through programming and artistic actions.
The Programming Coordinator will plan, support, implement, and oversee a variety of duties ensuring that ARCA’s programming remains active, relevant, and engaging to artist-run centres. Working with and reporting to the Executive Director, this position works with ARCA as a team to manage organizational outreach, programmed arts activations, and many aspects of ongoing operations.
