Leading up to this federal election on April 28th, ArtsLink NB supports the ArtsVote campaign of the Canadian Arts Coalition. We encourage all New Brunswickers to inform themselves and speak up for the arts in this election.

Who Is the Canadian Arts Coalition?
“The Canadian Arts Coalition is non-partisan (we don’t promote any party over another or tell you which way to vote) and wants all supporters of Arts and cultural expression in Canada to be informed and engaged so that all parties hear loudly that art matters.”
What Voting Resources Are Available?
In addition to the Coalitions’s Election kit (ENG / FR), you can find a list of resources and actions to take here.

The 1% Ask
The Canadian Arts Coalition asks that the Government of Canada permanently allocate at least 1% of its overall spending towards arts, culture, and heritage. To achieve this for the 2025-26 fiscal year, the Government should increase its allocations by $270 million, via:
- An increase of $140 million to the Canada Council for the Arts; and
- An increase of $130 million to the Department of Canadian Heritage.
