Liberté, Égalité, Sororité: French Women Composers in the Early 1900s 🎻
February 14 @ 7:30 pm – 9:00 pm
MusicUNB invites you to join us for a captivating and thought-provoking performance.
The French women composers featured in this concert worked in the Impressionist tradition of Debussy and Ravel. In a time when music by women composers was rarely performed, these trailblazers defied expectations, making their living from their art. But despite their prolific output–more than 300 pieces performed throughout the early 20th century–history has seen their contributions eclipsed by those of their male counterparts.
