Bike to the Museum
September 9, 2017
FreeThe Acadian Museum at the Université de Moncton is continuing, for the fourth year, their active lifestyle initiative! Beginning August 1 through October 7 2017, free admission will be granted to visitors who arrive by bicycle. Everyone is welcome. Whether you are sports enthusiasts, a history buff or simply looking for a fun activity for the whole family, a bicycle ride to the Acadian Museum will surely be great fun. This is also a great opportunity to explore the beautiful Université de Moncton’s campus, adorned with hundreds of mature trees and its unique Millenium Ecological Park.
The museum’s permanent exhibition, entitled “L’Aventure Acadienne” [Acadian Adventure], is a dynamic and innovative presentation of the history of Acadia in Atlantic Canada and of its material culture. It offers a fresh look at Acadian history. It is divided into two major parts: a chronological section beginning in 1604, and a theme-based section dealing with domestic life, religion, education, politics, Évangéline, folklore, culture and arts, and the world of business. Guided tours are available and more information can be provided at the reception desk. Our summer hours are from Monday to Friday from 10 AM to 5 PM and weekends from 1 PM to 5 PM. This initiative is part of the New Brunswick Wellness Week from October 1 to 7 2017.
