We’re hosting a webinar presentation by Canada Council for the Arts program officers Megan Mabey and Marie-France Hurtubise. They will discuss arts grants, how to apply, and how to make your application the best it can be.
Webinar Description
“The Canada Council for the Arts is Canada’s public arts funder, with a mandate to foster and promote the study and enjoyment of, and the production of works in, the arts. This information session will introduce the Council’s granting programs. Program officers will provide guidance on applying for a grant, what to expect through the application process, and how to put your best foot forward.”
Hosted by the Canadian Arts Coalition and Business / Arts, join us for a conversation with Michelle Chawla, Director and CEO of the Canada Council for the Arts.
Together, we will discuss what the Council has heard from the sector over the last six months and how they plan to strategically support Canada’s arts & culture sector moving forward. How can the Council and the sector work together, with intention and accountability, through current challenges and possibilities such as equity and access, pandemic recovery, and a shifting political environment?
Participants are invited to pre-submit questions through the registration form, or by emailing info@businessforthearts.org by 5pm ET on Friday, January 26, 2024. Questions will be organized in themes, though not all questions may be answered.
Do you have questions about how to write a great proposal?
Our next One 2 One will give participants all the information you need to successfully fund your artistic proposals. This session is happening before the upcoming artsnbcreation grant deadlines.
Bring your questions about grant writing and grant applications to this 20-minute one-on-one consultation with professional grant writer, Kathleen Buckley. Here are some possible topics for your session with Katie:
Bring an idea: Bounce ideas with Katie and find grant programs that suit your upcoming project.
Bring a draft: If you have a draft grant proposal written already, or an unsuccessful application you’d like feedback on, bring a printed or digital copy to the meeting for Katie to edit.
No project in mind? Use this time to chat with Katie about how she approaches grant writing and hear some of her top tips for writing a strong proposal.
Haven’t applied for a grant before? Use this time to talk to Katie about how grant programs work!
