80 Years of Art at the Fiddlehead – Exhibit Opening & Winter Issue Launch ✍️

The Fiddlehead is turning 80! We invite you to join us Saturday, February 8th at the Fredericton Public Library for the opening of our exhibit 80 Years of Art at The Fiddlehead which will feature a retrospective of the artwork associated with the magazine over the years.

During the exhibition opening, we will also launch our Winter 2025 issue with readings from contributors: celebrating the next installment of The Fiddlehead. This event is also part of FROSTival!

Fiddlehead 2023 Summer Poetry Issue Launch ✍🏽

On September 7 at 7 p.m. in Fredericton, join The Fiddlehead for the launch of their 2023 Summer Poetry Issue, with readings from contributors Ali Blythe, Rose Després, Clare Goulet, Jennifer Houle, Kathy Mac, and Carlos Morales. This will include readings of translated works from a partnership with Acadian Literary Journal Ancrages.

This free event will take place in Fredericton, at the Harriet Irving Library’s Milham Room (Rm 100), and on Zoom for those who can’t attend in person (registration required for online participants). An ASL interpreter will be present.

This event is funded in part by the Government of Canada, the Canada Council for the Arts, Arts Culture NB, and the University of New Brunswick.

Fiddlehead Winter Issue Launch ❄️

Join The Fiddlehead, in partnership with Word Feast and FROSTival, as we launch the 2023 Winter issue with readings from contributors Adèle Barclay, Ellie Sawatzky and Tazi Rodirigues. As well as special in-person guest Cody Caetano.

The event will take place in the Milham Room (Room 100) of UNB’s Harriet Irving Library and on Zoom for those who can’t attend in-person. An ASL interpreter will be present on Zoom and coffee and light snacks will be provided. As per UNB policy face masks are encouraged.

The event is free to all. To attend virtually, please register by emailing thefiddlehead@gmail.com to receive the Zoom link. When registering please provide your name and whether or not you require ASL services. If attending in person, registration is not necessary.

Join The Fiddlehead, in partnership with Word Feast, as we launch the Autumn issue with readings from Jenny Hwang, Griffin Poetry Prize and Governor General’s Literary Prize winner Tolu Oloruntoba, CBC Short Story Prize winner Corinna Chong and Fawn Parker, who has been longlisted for the 2022 Scotiabank Giller Prize.
