DEPOSITORY PARK
BEAVERBROOK ART GALLERY
OCTOBER 8 – DECEMBER 16, 2018
Fredericton’s Odell Park sits in the heart of the city, covering 175 hectares of municipal land with woods. While the park has a rich history documented in the provincial archives, the woodland also acts as an archival record of the disappearing old growth Acadian Forest.
Depository Park is a collaborative exhibition that itself acts as a responsive archive of Odell— a collective depository of images, text, and memorabilia that speaks to personal relationships to urban nature, while considering both archival fonds and urban park act as sites of preservation.
This exhibition emerged from a workshop hosted by Connexion ARC and led by D’Arcy Wilson in March 2018. Curated collectively and organized by the Beaverbrook Art Gallery in partnership with Connexion ARC.
