Conference (506) is a multi-stage program that helps emerging and developing artists build sustainable careers in the music industry.
New Brunswick is teeming with musical talent, far exceeding the infrastructure and professional resources available. Conference (506) aims to give artists the tools to achieve the next step in their careers.
In PRACTICE, takes place on October 21·22 and is for the whole music industry! While our event showcases emerging and developing artists, established and exporting artists, as well as industry professionals, are welcomed to attend the professional development and the networking sessions.
We can’t have an industry conference without industry pros! If you book for a festival or venue, and you are looking for an excuse to get out of the house, save the date for the ‘In PRACTICE’ portion of Conference (506), OCT 21-22.
In 2021, AX conducted a survey of potters, ceramists, and other industry professionals in the Atlantic Canada region. The results were clear: a need for a tighter, stronger ceramics community. In response, AX is offering the only ceramics conference in Atlantic Canada, and the first in decades.
Join us from October 21-23, 2022 for our inaugural AX Ceramics Conference: Creative Connections 2022, generously supported Tucker’s Pottery Supplies, featuring Keynote Speaker Carole Epp and New Brunswick ceramics artists Peter Powning, Maja Padrov, and Danika Vautour.
Your conference registration pass includes a welcome kit and all activities associated with the October 21-23 event, including a panel discussion, keynote address, presentations, workshops, a Powning Designs studio tour, networking opportunities, and a live music concert. We will also provide a light breakfast and a lunch on both Saturday and Sunday.
The weekend is all about fostering community, with opportunities for networking, professional development, and making connections with other artists in the field of ceramics. We invite artists, arts collectives, curators, scholars, or arts professionals to submit proposals for presentations, performances, temporary installations, interventions, or workshops on the theme of FUTURE POSSIBLE for ArtsLink NB‘s inaugural Arts Atlantic Symposium.
