On November 8, 2024, alongside the Lieutenant Governor of New Brunswick and presenting partner UNI Coopération financière, artsnb will celebrate the artists who will be receiving the four (4) awards for High Achievement in the arts: the Visual Arts Award, the Literary Arts Award, the Performing Arts Award, and the inaugural Indigenous Artist Award.
The 2024 laureates are Phil Comeau, Valerie Sherrard, Marshall Button, and Tara Francis.
Yesterday, the provincial government released its budget for 2024-25 titled Stronger Than Ever: Let’s Keep Building. In it, there are a couple of noticeable strides forward alongside some glaring omissions. I wish to convey our apprehension regarding the absence of crucial investments required for the arts and culture sector.
Wednesday January 31, 2024, join Kelly Hill from Hill Strategies Research online for a presentation on the highlights of his new study on professional artists and cultural workers in New Brunswick.
How many of these workers are women? Francophone? How much do artists and cultural workers typically earn? How do these key facts compare to other provinces? Join us and take part in the discussion that will follow.
This presentation is FREE but registrations are required. Email Audrée at comm@artsnb.ca to obtain the meeting link.
*This presentation is in English only. The same presentation will be offered in French on January 30, 2024.
Do you have questions about how to write a great proposal?
Our next One 2 One will give participants all the information you need to successfully fund your artistic proposals. This session is happening before the upcoming artsnbcreation grant deadlines.
Bring your questions about grant writing and grant applications to this 20-minute one-on-one consultation with professional grant writer, Kathleen Buckley. Here are some possible topics for your session with Katie:
Bring an idea: Bounce ideas with Katie and find grant programs that suit your upcoming project.
Bring a draft: If you have a draft grant proposal written already, or an unsuccessful application you’d like feedback on, bring a printed or digital copy to the meeting for Katie to edit.
No project in mind? Use this time to chat with Katie about how she approaches grant writing and hear some of her top tips for writing a strong proposal.
Haven’t applied for a grant before? Use this time to talk to Katie about how grant programs work!
