The Fiddlehead’s 2024 Creative Nonfiction Contest is now open and closes June 3, 2024. The prize is $2,000 CAD for Best Creative Nonfiction Essay.
This year’s judge is Lorri Neilsen Glenn.
Lorri Neilsen Glenn is the author, most recently, of The Old Moon in Her Arms: Women I Have Known and Been (Nimbus, Spring 2024) and Following the River: Traces of Red River Women, an award-winning historical account of the lives of her Indigenous grandmothers (Wolsak and Wynn). A poet and essayist, Lorri has served on juries for local, regional and national awards for poetry and creative nonfiction. Halifax’s first Métis Poet Laureate, she is Professor Emerita at Mount Saint Vincent and currently a mentor in the MFA program in creative nonfiction at The University of King’s College. She lives in Nova Scotia.
