Respectful Workplace Week, hosted by the Public Legal Education and Information Service of New Brunswick, will take place from September 2-5.

Respectful Workplace Week is an annual event that promotes and educates people about building healthier workplaces.

The main event is a forum with 2-3 full days of online seminars, workshops, trainings, and discussion panels. We also offer training for the public on issues related to respect, equity, and safety at work.

Our executive director Julie Whitenect, along with Christiana Myers of GNB, will be hosting a discussion of the of the Status of the Artist Act as part of the main forum on Wednesday, September 3rd. The forum runs from 10am-4pm online, with Julie and Christiana presenting at 10am.

Forum sessions include:

  • A discussion of the of the Status of the Artist Act, with Julie Whitenect (ArtsLink NB), and Christiana Myers (GNB);
  • Psychological Health and Safety for the Workplace, with Worksafe NB;
  • Occupational Therapy in the Workplace, with Alison Heighton-Lamb Worksafe NB;
  • Managing Neurodivergent Employees, with Sof Mehlitz and Angela Black of GNB’s Equal Employment Opportunity Program;
  • Introduction to the NB Human Rights Commission’s Guideline on Racial Discrimination for the Workplace (2025), with Khurram Khurshid;
  • Update on Respectful Work and the Law, with Kelly VanBuskirk.

The workshop series includes:

  • DIPV Workplace Toolkit Workshop: Learn how domestic and intimate partner violence (DIPV) impacts workplace productivity, safety, and well-being
