The provincial government is inviting New Brunswickers to share their ideas and input as part of the pre-budget consultation for the 2025-26 budget.

This process is an important opportunity to tell decision-makers that the arts are important to you and to help us advocate for increased investment in the arts sector.

The Facts

In 2022, arts and cultural industries contributed over $609,588,000 to New Brunswickโ€™s GDP and directly supported 7,311 jobs. However, New Brunswick has one of the lowest provincial investments in arts and culture, lagging behind the national average since 2014. This sector cannot thrive without stable and dependable funding that keeps pace with rising costs and responds to the evolving needs of organizations.

Have Your Say

We encourage you to submit feedback emphasizing how arts funding supports government priorities such as:

  • Health and Wellbeing:
    • Creative programs that improve mental health outcomes.
  • Economic Development:
    • The arts sector is an important economic driver.
  • Education:
    • Arts integration that enhances learning experiences and critical thinking.
  • Community Building:
    • Cultural initiatives that foster connection and belonging.

With targeted investments and strategic development, we can empower the arts and culture industry to thrive, stimulate innovation, attract key players, and position our region as a leader in the creative economy.
