Join us in Saint John as we celebrate another CATAPULT Arts Accelerator Launch Day by hearing from the seven latest CATAPULT grads!
The artists have been hard at work all fall learning the business side of art, and will each be giving a short pitch about their artistic practice and their work.
Presentations are at 2pm, with a reception to follow as a chance to chat with the artists, CATAPULT alumni, and their supporters. Admission is free, and we hope to see you there!
The Artists
David Chavez Andrade is a Mexican visual artist living in Fredericton. His paintings are very colourful and are a unique blend of geometry and abstraction inspired by the bright colours of Mexico.
Frédérique Brideau is a non-binary, Montréal-born, Halifax-based artist and illustrator working in sculpture, installation, and performance art. Their work centers around concepts of fantasy, fabricated environments, and sensory stimulation.
Paloma Carmo is a visual artist living in Moncton who makes colourful papier-mâché sculptures inspired by nature and daily life.
Gabriela de Austin, a proud Peruvian and Canadian citizen. An artist 24/7, including when she sleeps! Now, visual and fibre artist. Catholic, happy, positive, optimistic. And always, exaggeratedly enthusiastic.
Stella d’Entremont is a professional wildlife, nature, and landscape photographer. She is also an author who shares her experiences through words and images. As a storyteller, she brings the beauty of the natural world to life for others to enjoy.
Eereen Shevchenko is a multidisciplinary artist from Ukraine working with Ukrainian folk arts such as Petrykivka painting, Vytynanka (papercutting), and Pysanka (egg decoration), reimagining them through a contemporary lens.
Matthew Kingsley Williston is a multi-disciplinary artist working in video, music, painting, and performance. Over the past 25 years, he’s been behind everything from live projection mapping in Europe and the Americas to DJ and VJ sets across Canada.
