The Beaverbrook Art Gallery invites artists to submit designs for a wearable facemask that commemorates the masks we are wearing and their related social constraints as we navigate the challenges of a pandemic. Any medium is acceptable; designs can be made from scratch or added to existing masks. Fourteen masks by NB artists will be selected for a virtual showcase, three gallery exhibitions, and will be worn by dancers of the Atlantic Ballet for post-pandemic performances.
The fourteen selected artists will receive an artist fee of $1283.00 for the creation of their mask. The deadline for submissions is August 23, 2020, by 5 pm. For more information, click here.
