In June of 2001, Susan Chalmers-Gauvin, a Policy Consultant in Health and Social Services and Igor Dobrovolskiy, a new immigrant to Canada from Ukraine, met for coffee. On that day, with an idea and a blank piece of paper, they opened a P. O. Box. Nine months later their creative adventure began. In February 2002 Atlantic Ballet Theatre of Canada opened the doors of its new studio with artists from around the world. The world premiere of a new ballet, FIGARO, opened on May 11th, 2002 at the Capitol Theatre in Moncton, New Brunswick. Atlantic Ballet Theatre of Canada began.
