4th Annual Recovery Art Show Call to Artists hosted by Addiction and Mental Health Services Fredericton at The Fredericton Public Library November 2016
Addiction and Mental Health Services Fredericton is pleased to issue a Call to Artists to participate in an exhibition highlighting recovery from addiction and mental illness.
Creativity and artistic expression can play an important role in recovery. The purpose of this exhibit is to show art depicting people’s experience of recovery, increase public awareness, spark discussion, teach and change perceptions.
Deadline for Submissions: October 14th, 2016
Guidelines for Submissions
Artists who live or work within the greater Capital region are eligible.
Works in all media will be considered. They may be any size and completed in any year.
Delivery and pick up of the art work to and from the library is the responsibility of the artist.
Reception takes place on Nov 16th at 6pm at the library to celebrate artists’ works.
Artists may submit up to 3 images of their work by email, CD or memory stick. An artwork that consists of separate parts, for example, a collage of photos will be considered as one submission. Please note that not all pieces may be chosen for display.
Label each image with your name and the title of the work.
(Voluntary) Artists can also submit a 50-100 word statement describing the meaning of each submission to enhance the audience’s understanding of it. Electronic copies of the artist’s statements should also accompany mailed images (in your language of choice).
