Auditions for Bard in the Barracks: Much Ado About Nothing and Coriolanus, May 9th & 10th.

Open auditions will be held on May 9th and 10th for the Bard in the Barracks productions of William Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing, to be directed by Tilly Jackson and performed in Odell Park, and Coriolanus, to be directed by Len Falkenstein and performed in downtown Fredericton. The plays will be performed in repertory and will collectively run from June 23-July 9, with exact performance dates for each play still to be determined. The plays will be rehearsed intensively (mainly evening hours) beginning in mid-May.

 

Much Ado About Nothing and Coriolanus Audition Notice

 

Roles are available for actors of a variety of ages, and casting of several roles will be gender fluid. Auditions will take place at Memorial Hall, UNB from 7:30-10:00 PM each of Tuesday, May 9, and Wednesday, May 10. Those auditioning are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the plays beforehand. Auditions will consist of readings from the plays. Prepared monologues may also be performed but are not required.

To book an audition, please email tilly.jackson48@gmail.com, indicating your availability for the audition dates and any preference for date/time. Ideally, you should be prepared to be on hand up to an hour for your audition. Actors may be cast in one or both plays (if willing) and may indicate a preference of play (if any) when booking their audition or on arrival.
Please email us also at the same address if you are interested in auditioning but unable to attend either of the audition dates. Expressions of interest from persons who would like to assist with the productions in a musical or technical/crew capacity are also welcome. All members of the company will receive honorariums for their work on the productions.
