In memory of
1945 – 2018
The staff, volunteers and Board of Directors of Sunbury Shores Arts and Nature Centre were deeply saddened to hear of the passing of former Board Member Bob Grant on September 30, 2018. His input, thoughtfulness and no-nonsense approach were instrumental during the renovation of the Sunbury Shores building and his subsequent active participation as a Board member with Sunbury Shores. He will be greatly missed and Sunbury Shores would like to express our condolences to his family and his many friends in this community.
A “Celebration of Bob’s Life” will be held at the Heather Curling Club, W.C. O’Neill Arena in St. Andrews this Friday, October 5 between 2:00pm and 5:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Diabetic Association or the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Online condolences to the family or donations can be made at www.humphreysfh.com.
Bob graduated from UNB Fredericton in 1969 to follow a dream of becoming a mechanical engineer. He went on to work for many years with Neil & Gunter. Being such a free spirit of life he pursued an endeavour to build his own company known as H.R. Grant & Associates. Bob was a thinker, a fixer, a problem solver, a supporter, a prankster and a master of so many trades; his handmade clocks will be cherished by his family for many years to come. Bob made time to always be helping friends and everyone has a project done by Bob. He used to love to fly his remote control planes with his buddy Robert, although they spent more time fixing than flying. If he wasn’t fixing things, he was at the rink curling, loved to skip and was always coaching. After spending 11 years refurbishing a 68 Healy, he and wife Donna spent time showing it off at different car shows. Bob was so many things to so many people, he will indeed be missed by all.
