Make Something Sunday To Go

May 16, 2021

Activities for Families Sponsored by the Rotary Club of Sackville

16 May
Jean Dixon and Dot Designs

Jean Dixon used special tools to stamp a detailed design onto a leather wallet. As an applied arts student at Mount Allison she studied how to make objects that were both useful and artistic. Taking inspiration from this work, use dots and lines to decorate a small fabric bag and create a useful and artistic object of your own.

Kit pick-ups from 10-14 May

Make Something Sunday To Go kits include everything you need for art activities inspired by works in our permanent collection. Each activity is accompanied by a short video that gives you an up-close look at an artwork and ideas for something to make in response to it.

Dive into your kit as soon as you get home, wait for Sunday, or save it for a stormy day—it’s up to you! When you have something to share, tag us at #OwensArtGallery and #MakeSomethingSunday and show us what you’ve made. Search these tags to see what others have made and watch our Instagram stories for highlights.

Make Something Sunday To Go introduces new materials and ways of working through informal, hands-on activities for kids 12 and under and their adults. Our kits are offered free of charge. Sponsored by the Rotary Club of Sackville.

Make Something Sunday To Go kits will be available for curb-side pick-up from the Owens Art Gallery on a first-come-first-served basis on weekdays between 10:00 am and 5:00 pm. Please ring the doorbell at the entrance closest to the turning circle next to the Chapel and stand six feet back from the door. Community masks are mandatory for picking up kits.
