For more info and to reserve your spot: https://www.eventbrite.ca/e/90626144237

Instructor: Lois MacDonald-Layden
Difficulty Level: Beginner
Date: April 18, 2020, 12-4pm
Max class size: 10
Course Fee: $80

Course Description:
Come learn the wonderful art of needle felting and create your own cute little felted sheep with nothing more than wool and felting needles (and lots and lots of stabbing!) This is a versatile form of soft sculpture that can be used to make so many things. This workshop is suitable for beginners or those with some experience. These little guys are made with core wool, lamb curls and have glass eyes and a wire frame. They are about 3-4” and are the perfect tree ornament size. Participants will receive a Felting kit (felting foam and felting needles), and enough core wool, lamb curls (in grey or white) wire and glass eyes to make two little sheep.

What to bring:
All materials and supplies are provided for this workshop, but students are asked to bring the following:

1. Small sharp scissors
2. A multiple felting needle holder. These can be purchased at Good Fibrations.

Scent Free Policy: Due to the health concerns arising from exposure to scented products, Good Fibrations ask you to refrain from wearing scented products when attending any class at our store.

About the Instructor:
Lois has been wet and needle felting for 9 years under the name of Tuckamoor Wildcrafts. Her art is inspired by the North specifically, and nature in general. She designs and makes designer pillow covers, popular bookmarks, wall-art and some soft sculpture, as well as functional pieces like scarves, slippers, mittens, and felted mitten harnesses. You will see lots of trees, sunsets, fullmoons, ravens, ptarmigans, lakes and oceans in her work. She constantly seeks out opportunities to learn from other felters and artists in general. The three dimensional, soft to the touch quality of wool tapestries and projects is addictive! Above all, Lois enjoys teaching felt-art to children and adults in workshops from 2 hours to 2 days. She is an accomplished seamstress and landscape designer and I love pottery. An army wife, who gets to live in many parts of Canada with her fun husband Rich and three children, Nick, Gabe & Sorcha, she is originally from Newfoundland and an ornamental horticulturist by trade.
