April 20, 2021 @ 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Panel Discussion (French)
20 April 2021 @ 5:30 pm ADT
Frye Festival

Elise Anne LaPlante, Camille Larivée, Chloé Savoie-Bernard
Moderated by Dr. Kirsty Bell, Professor, Mount Allison University

Featuring artists, authors and curators, this roundtable discussion explores the relationship between visual art and writing as an expanded creative form. Building on their respective practices, panel participants discuss how arts writing contributes to knowledge as a means of decentring stories and moving toward interdisciplinary and intersectional perspectives. Whether it is considered a chronicle, an archive created in real time, or simply written thought, writing operates within art as a generative act.

Between the Lines is presented by the Owens Art Gallery, Mount Allison University, and the Galerie d’art Louise-et-Reuben-Cohen, Université de Moncton, in partnership with the magazine Vie des arts and the Frye Festival.
