Ménard’s work revolves mostly around the production and presentation methods of the printed image. It forms a broadened context for traditional printmaking by shifting its codes and aesthetic conventions. Through screen printing as a process more so than a means to an end he develops work that is a hybridization of the printed image and sculpture. His project at Imago will focus on the rerouting or détournement of the iconographic language of Quebec’s road signage.
Ménard is currently completing his Master of Fine Arts in Fine and Media Arts at Université du Québec à Montréal. Recipient of the prix Albert-Dumouchel and BMO’s first art, Ménard has participated in various group shows and has partaken in several research residencies throughout Quebec. Ménard is a member of Arprim’s board of directors since 2016.
